Antique Sunday Walking Stick With Horn Handle & Decorative Silver Collar
This rare Sunday Golfing Stick features a horn handle, used as a putter when playing golf.
The shaft is made of ebony wood and has a metal ferrule.

'This style of Walking Stick was used as a concealed long nose putter that allowed Scotsmen to play golf on the Sabbath, taking a swing at anything ball-shaped they may encounter on their outings. Following the ban of Golf in Scotland on Sundays, this was a way to continue their hobby without being caught and reprimanded!'
