Vintage Circa 1930's Western Saddle
This is a fully hand tooled leather western saddle with oak leaf design throughout
The saddle comes complete with leather strap, and stirrups (see pics)
The saddle is by one of the US makers SIMCO
With 'SIMCO 660' embossed to the leather tab on the front of the saddle
660 is the model seriel number and is believed to be one of the earlier Simco models

The Crates family originally owned Simco and has been manufacturing saddles there since 1930 in partnership with the Sims family
Simco told to The Auction Company in 1981
After selling the brand to The Auction Company in 1981 the Crates family and their original employees established The Crates Leather Co Inc and has been manufacturing saddles under Crates brand since 1981
Although The Auction Company bought out Simco they kept the brand distinct and seperate from the rest of their business
In 1990 Simco accuired The Longhorn Leather Company and then changed its brand name to Simco-Longhorn
