This makhila walking stick has a bovine horn pommel top with a plaited leather handle which unscrews. The handle has a brass loop with a brown plaited leather wrist strap.
Below the top, the stick is furnished with a patterned brass collar.
The stick has a medlar shaft, a traditional Basque wood, and an original large patterned brass ferrule.
The ferrule is stamped with the maker's name:
'J. Gaillon'
The ferrule is also stamped with a date & the country of origin:
'1928'
