This large gents' walking stick features a cylindrical bovine horn pommel with a black top. It is furnished with a large silver collar hallmarked for:  'Birmingham 1929'  With a maker's mark: 'S.B. & S. LD' For the Birmingham silversmith: 'S. Blanckensee & Son Ltd' 'S. Blanckensee & Son Ltd. was a prominent Birmingham silversmith and jeweler, founded in 1826 by Solomon Blanckensee in Bristol. The company later moved to Birmingham and expanded, becoming a major force in the jewelry and silver industry, even acquiring other firms like Nathan & Hayes and the Albion Chain Co.' Two-tone ebony shaft with an original metal ferrule.  A well-made & sturdy item, ideal for use or a collector.
