This black umbrella features a faux tortoiseshell crook handle. 
There is a gold collar hallmarked for:
'London 1925
9 .375'

Indicating that the collar is 9 carat gold.
There is a maker's mark:
'4 HMC'

The metal frame holds a black nylon canopy. One of the metal spokes has a maker's name:
'Paragon (Lock) S. Fox & Co Limited'
For the renowned makers of umbrellas: 
'Fox Umbrellas Ltd.
‘It was in 1848 that Samuel Fox, a wire drawer by trade, started to make solid steel ribs in Stocksbridge, near Sheffield.
Fox was a master wire drawer and it was this skill in the production of fine-quality wire that he turned to the production of umbrella ribs.
Samuel Fox continued improving and developing his ribs over the next few years when his son William Henry Fox joined the company around 1913 and around this time adopted the trademark 'Paragon'.’

There is a malacca shaft that ends in the original metal ferrule. The umbrella also has the original fabric cover.
