This black umbrella features a brass handle decorated with a raised design of squirrels, oak leaves & acorns.

Below the brass handle is an ebonized treen section, with an original plaited cord wrist strap.

The umbrella has a metal shaft and fixings, ending in an original metal ferrule.

 The frame holds a black nylon canopy and is stamped with the maker's name:
'St. Michael Trade Mark
British Made'
'This well-known British retailer's name was introduced in 1927 and registered as a trademark in 1928. At first it applied only to products produced by Corahs (a hosiery manufacturer), but by 1950 and for the next fifty years, almost all goods sold by Marks & Spencer used the St Michael brand.
The brand was dropped in 2000 as part of a general rebranding.'
