This antique umbrella has a partridge wood crook handle and a decoratively engraved silver collar hallmarked for:
'London 1927'
There is a maker's mark:
'TD'
For the London stick maker:
'Thomas Davis'
'In the 1895 Post Office London Directory, Thomas Davis is listed at 8 Avebury Street, Hoxton, London, and is described as a stick maker.'

The collar features a vacant cartouche suitable for engraving.

Metal shaft & frame that holds a black nylon canopy.

One of the spokes is stamped with the frame maker's name:
'Paragon 
S. Fox & Co Limited'

‘It was in 1848 that Samuel Fox, a wire drawer by trade, started to make solid steel ribs in Stocksbridge, near Sheffield.
Fox was a master wire drawer and it was this skill in the production of fine quality wire that he turned to the production of umbrella ribs.
Samuel Fox continued improving and developing his ribs over the next few years when his son William Henry Fox joined the company around 1913 and around this time adopted the trademark 'Paragon'.’

The shaft ends in an original metal ferrule.

A smart & practical umbrella, suitable for use or a collector.
