This rustic cane is completely made from one piece of treen, with the bark intact. It is furnished with a brass crest for the: 
'Royal Artillery' 

'The Royal Regiment of Artillery, commonly referred to as the Royal Artillery (RA) and colloquially known as "The Gunners", is one of two regiments that make up the artillery arm of the British Army. The Royal Regiment of Artillery comprises thirteen Regular Army regimentsthe King's Troop Royal Horse Artillery, and five Army Reserve regiments.

The grenade first appeared on the Royal Engineers uniform in 1824 when it was worn on the tail of an Officer’s full dress coatee. In 1825, a brass grenade was introduced for other ranks of the Royal Sappers and Miners. Later, the grenade came to be worn on the epaulet and then the collar.​'
