This rare walking stick features a skillfully hand-sculpted bronzed bust of the famous Austrian composer Franz Schubert. There is a panel to the front with the name:
'Schubert'
'Franz Schubert (31 January 1797 – 19 November 1828), a Viennese composer of the late Classical to early Romantic eras, left a very extensive body of work notwithstanding his short life. He wrote over 1,500 items, or, when collections, cycles and variants are grouped, some thousand compositions.'
The back of the bust is stamped with the maker's name:
'L. Piedboeuf'
Below the top, the stick is furnished with a silver collar.
There is a malacca shaft with an original metal ferrule
Perfect for a Schubert fan or for use.

Very good condition with use marks to shaft consistent with age. Some dings to silver.
