G. & J. Zair were independent whip & walking stick makers founded in the 1830s in Birmingham until they were bought by Swaine & Adeney in 1927.
The handle also features a silver maker's pin with the name of the retailer:

Bamboo shaft cladded with brown pigskin leather with an original leather end & replaced plaited leather lash with cord end.
