This is a Victorian driving whip featuring a cladded brown English leather handle, furnished witha  silver top and collar hallmarked for:  Birmingham 1896  Along with a makers mark:  G&J.Z  For:  George & John Zair  G. & J. Zair were independent whip & walking stick makers founded in the 1830s in Birmingham until they were bought by Swaine & Adeney in 1927. ​ The collar features a presentation for the original owner:  E.J.M  1899  Holly shaft finished with a plaited white leather lash.  A good quality whip, suitable for use or a collector.  Measurements:  Length to the top of the natural bow - 134cm  Diameter of the end - 1.8cm  Diameter of the shaft above the shaft - 1.1cm  Lash length from the end of the binding not including cord end - 113cm  Weight - 170g  

Very good condition with some minor age marks. Professionally replaced lash.
