This antique bamboo walking stick is made from a single piece of bamboo with a top formed by the root ball. 

Sitting on the root ball is a Buddha. 

The shaft has been intricately hand-carved with a Japanese samurai and a lady. 

Many samurai were devout Buddhists, particularly adhering to Zen Buddhism, which heavily influenced their culture, mindset, and martial arts. 

Bamboo shaft that ends in a brass ferrule.
