This makhila walking stick has a bovine horn pommel top with a plaited leather handle that unscrews. The handle has a brass loop for attaching a wrist strap. 
Below the horn top, the stick is furnished with a patterned brass collar. 

The stick has a medlar shaft, a traditional Basque wood, and an original large patterned brass ferrule. 
The ferrule is stamped with the famous Basque phrase: 
Etsaien Beldurra Naiz 
This phrase plays an honorable role in the culture of the Basque Country, where sticks have always symbolized protection, authority, and the courage to face the dangers that may arise along the way. 

Rare item, perfect for a collector or use.
