'Henry Howell & Co walking sticks was founded in 1832 and was originally based at 76 Aldersgate, London. In its time, the cane manufacturer known as Henry Howell & Company, London, England was the largest and one of the world’s most prestigious makers of fine walking sticks' 

The collar also features a presentation for the original owner reading:

'The Penllwygwent Colliery (also known as the Wyndham/Western Colliery) was a significant coal mine in the region of the Ogmore Valley, near Pontycymer, Wales.
The colliery was a major part of the industrial heritage of the area, like many other pits in the Welsh valleys, such as the Garw/Ffaldau Colliery, which closed in 1985.'
