'Brigg was one of the UK’s top walking stick and umbrella manufacturers until February 1943, when Swaine & Adeney on Piccadilly and Thomas Brigg & Sons, around the corner at 23 St James's Street decided to join forces. From 1943 until 1990 the company traded as Swaine, Adeney, Brigg & Sons Ltd' 

There is also a silversmith's mark C.D for the London-based Silversmith: 

Charles Henry Dumenil 
Charles Henry Dumenil was one of Briggs silversmiths throughout the early 1900s and is noted on page 103 of the ‘In Good Hands – Swaine Adeney Brigg’ book by Katherine Prior. 

Strong bamboo shaft with a metal ferrule.
