This Sunday stick is made from a single piece of coppiced wood, & is perfect for use as a putter. 

'Sunday sticks were manufactured because of the ban on golfing on the Sabbath, Sunday. They fashioned the canes with a golf club head as a handle and they became known as 'Sunday Clubs' or 'Sabbath sticks'. It is said that on the Sabbath a Sunday Club owner, when nobody was looking, could still enjoy a crafty putt or swing.'

Below the handle is a gold plated collar hallmarked:
'18CT GP' 
Indicating the collar is plated with 18 carat gold

Strong barkwood shaft with a decorative spiral carved through the back to the wood beneath, with a metal ferrule. 

An attractive stick, perfect for use or a collector.
