'James Clark and John Sewell established their business in Legge Lane in Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter in 1899. They are best known for their silver smoking accessories but also produced small items of tableware and some good quality candlesticks. They remained in business up until around 1930.'
There is a cartouche engraved with the initials of the original owner:
