This walking stick is made from a single piece of maple wood, with a hand-carved top in the shape of a clenched fist.

It is furnished with a decoratively engraved large silver collar hallmarked for:
'Birmingham 1920'

With a maker's mark:
'R.Bs'
For the famous Birmingham manufacturing silversmiths & jewellers:
'Rolason Brothers'
'Rolason Brothers was a manufacturing jewellers business, started by William Rolason's sons John, Charles, and Joseph, around 1887 in Birmingham, England, operating from 80 and 81 Vyse Street. They are known for a variety of jewellery, including button hooks, pencil-cases, and enamelled Vesta cases. The family business had an active period from 1887 to 1894, marked by their hallmarking, and continued to operate into the 20th century. '

The collar is engraved with the initials of the original owner:
'CJW'

Very strong maple shaft with a metal ferrule.
