This historical stick has a skilfully hand-carved top shaped like a clenched hand holding a crudely made cigarette holder. 

Underneath the fist is inscribed:

In 1901, St. Helena served as a major prisoner-of-war camp during the Second Anglo-Boer War. Approximately 4,600 to 6,000 Boer captives were held on the island, tripling its population.​ 

Unusual rustic treen shaft, possibly made from snake gourd, with a metal ferrule. 

A unique & sturdy stick, suitable for use or a collector.
