'Johan Gustaf Hentzell, born 22.9.1845, journeyman 1864, emigrated to USA in April 1864. Returned to Kalmar in Sweden 1882. Founded his own workshop there and marked 1882-1920 when he died 21st of September. His son Gustaf Georg, born 1888, continued to 1964 when he died after which A. Rosin took over and continued to 1969.'
The handle is engraved with a presentation:
