This unique walking stick has a pommel top made from the semi-precious stone chalcedony, complete with an inset compass. 

The top is furnished with a repousse silver collar hallmarked for: 
'Birmingham 1904' 
With a makers mark: 
'H.P&S' 
For the silversmith: 
'Henry Perkins & Sons' 
'The business was restyled in 1901 as Henry Perkins & Son, the partners being Henry, Arthur and Henry Charles Perkins. They primarily made pipe & walking stick mounts. The firm was converted into a limited liability company in 1922 under the style Henry Perkins & Sons Ltd.' 

The collar is also embossed with the name of the original owner: 
'J.Cox' 

Strong ebonised shaft with an original brass ferrule. 

A rare item, perfect for a collector or use.

Very good condition, minor varnish loss to the shaft, working compass. Small natural curve.
