Swaine London, also known as Swaine Adeney Brigg, perfected its sophisticated and traditional designs, rendering them as a world-class British manufacturer of the highest quality whips and sticks
The shaft is made from holly with a rabbit-bitten handle and a plaited cream leather lash.
'Holly and birch sticks served as the primary materials for the shafts of driving or carriage whips, with regular deliveries from Kent, Sussex, and Hampshire to Swaine. Particularly prized was the 'rabbit-bitten holly', distinguished by its textured, mottled pattern left by rabbits.'
