'Henry Howell & Co walking sticks was founded in 1832 and was originally based at 76 Aldersgate, London. In its time, the cane manufacturer known as Henry Howell & Company, London, England was the largest and one of the world’s most prestigious makers of fine walking sticks.
The top of the handle is engraved with a crest for the Scottish clan Colville.
The side of the top is engraved with the name & address of the original owner, with a date:

Stirling.
August 1904.'
