This Victorian umbrella features a hand-carved duck top with original glass eyes, furnished with a silver collar hallmarked for: 

'London 1894' 

With a silversmith's mark: 

'H.A' 

The collar also has a button, which when pressed, opens the duck's mouth. 

Black wooden shaft & Paragon Fox metal frame that holds a navy nylon canopy.
The mechanism is embossed with the maker: 
'Brigg London
'Brigg London was one of the UK’s top walking stick and umbrella manufacturers until February 1943, when Swaine & Adeney on Piccadilly and Thomas Brigg & Sons, around the corner at 23 St James's Street, decided to join forces. From 1943 until 1990, the company traded as Swaine, Adeney, Brigg & Sons Ltd' 

The shaft ends in a cane section with an original brass ferrule. 

A smart & practical umbrella, suitable for use or a collector.
