This walking stick is entirely made from a single piece of treen & has an epitaph written along its length. The text reads from the top to the bottom of the stick:
'In Memory of Joseph Jackson
Late of the Parish of Foy
He died July 20th 1843
Aged 96 years'
'My glass is run, my days are spent.
My life is gone, it was but lent,
As I am now so must you be, 
Therefore prepare to follow me

Foy is a Hamlet and civil parish in Herefordshire, England.
How Caple church is more than 800 years old. The earliest parts of the church date to around 1210, but Roman artefacts suggest the existence of an even earlier temple. Rebuilding of the nave, chancel, and tower occurred in 1693.'
