This walking stick features a skilfully hand-carved duck head with the original glass eyes and a mechanical beak that opens when the lever underneath is pressed, for the purpose of holding gloves. 

The duck is furnished with a reppousse collar, hallmarked for: 
'London 1897'

Walking stick maker for: 
‘Henry Howell & Co.’ 
'Henry Howell & Co walking sticks was founded in 1832 and was originally based at 76 Aldersgate, London. In its time, the cane manufacturer known as Henry Howell & Company, London, England was the largest and one of the world’s most prestigious makers of fine walking sticks'
