'The name St Michael was used by Marks & Spencer from 1927 for hosiery products manufactured by their supplier N. Corah & Sons of Leicester. It was registered as a trademark in 1928. At first it applied only to products produced by Corahs, but by 1950 and for the next fifty years, almost all goods sold by Marks & Spencer used the St Michael brand.
The brand was dropped in 2000 as part of a general rebranding. For the next few years, the St Michael name was adopted as the 'St Michael Quality Promise' on the back of food products, on the side of delivery vehicles, and on in-store receipts.'
The shaft ends in a cane section with an original metal ferrule.
A smart & practical umbrella, suitable for use or a collector.
