This very large walking stick is made entirely from maple wood and has a skillfully hand-carved top in the shape of a spaniel type dog's head with original sharp glass eyes.

It is furnished with a textured wide silver collar hallmarked for: 
'Birmingham 1941' 
With a makers mark: 
'J & Co' 
'The company was founded in 1800 under the name Messrs Jennens & Co which changed to Charles Jennens early in the company's history finally becoming Jennens & Co Ltd around 1912. In 1924 it merged with Gaunt and Sons.'
The collar also features a vacant cartouche suitable for engraving.

There is an additional maple wood collar approximately a third of the way down the shaft.

An unusual and very sturdy stick, perfect for use or a collector.
