'The Army Cadet Force (ACF) in the UK has a history dating back to 1859, when it was formed in response to a perceived threat of French invasion. Initially, it was linked to the Volunteer Force (a precursor to the Territorial Army) and aimed to provide military-style training to young people. While sponsored by the Ministry of Defence, the ACF is a voluntary youth organization and not part of the military itself. 


Ebonized shaft with an original metal ferrule.
